I’m guessing that the black discoloration is from mold or mildew growing on or under the stick-on spots which tend to hold moisture and soap scum on their rough surface. Try a mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide solution, if that doesn't work, try a vinegar and baking soda combination, or any of the dozens of mold/mildew sprays available commercially. Let the product dwell, keeping it wet for 10 to 15 minutes. Scrubbing peroidically with a stiff brush during the dwell time may be helpful to work the cleaning solution into the rough surface and loosen soil from the spots. Rinse well with water after scrubbing and let dry. Repeat the process in you see improvement.
