| I have been asked to bid on a 7000 sq. ft. office building. I would be cleaning twice a week. Cleaning would include dusting, windows, floors, bathrooms, desks, a small kitchenette, and baseboards. What would be a fair rate to bid? |

We can’t honestly say. It all depends on how quickly you can do the work and what you wish to earn for your time. If you can clean at a rate of 2000 sq.ft. per hour for the basic tasks, you will spend about 3.5 hours on the job. If you wish to earn $30 per hour, your charge will be $105 per time or $210 per week. That figures out to $910 a month with a uniform billing. Are these the right numbers for you? We don’t know. If someone is ready to work for $25 an hour and can do the job in 3 hours, they will beat your proposal by $640 a month. It all depends on your production time and what you need to earn to make the job worthwhile. Only you can determine that.
