Advantages of brown paper towels - They are less expensive than the white, and since they are manufactured without bleach, are environmentally more friendly (and LEED eligible) and more bio-degradable and often include 50% recyclable material.
On the "con" side, brown towels are often less absorbent than the white ones, and the white towels often "feel" softer.
