Question

I have a yellow rubber cafeteria floor that has been stained with a brown substance. I need to get the stain out of the tile and have tried a chemical called heavy duty cleaner. It did help some, but stain is still there. I would like the stain gone without hurting the color of floor. Any ideas?

Answer

I can offer two suggestions.
1. Find out what the staining substance was. It probably has penetrated the tile and there may be ways of applying a poultice that will draw it out, if you can find out what you are working with.
2. Ask the tile manufacturer about procedures that will not affect the coloring of the tile. They may rule out high alkaline strippers and certain solvents, making your effort safer.
