Question

After checking my local area, I surprisingly found that no one uses steam to clean tile and grout. If you watch the videos from the folks that make the steam cleaners, steam vapor cleaning seems to be a great way to clean tile and grout and to me seems to be a good investment to add to my current business. What do you think, is vapor steam cleaning a better way to clean tile and grout?

Answer

Steam is, indeed, an excellent use for this purpose. It cleans and sanitizes well and is not costly in terms of chemicals (there are none) nor risky in terms of pollutants.
You should note that it is slow work due to the commonly small sized equipment available. A truckmount unit with a hard floor pressure wash tool will be faster.
Even so, it would be a good investment for you. Search around for good prices on commercial grade equipment. Compare features. Units with a smaller boiler will last for a couple of hours before refill, but for continuous use you might desire one that allows for refilling without opening the tank and reducing pressure. Avoid the lightweight stuff shown on TV.
