Question

I am new in the cleaning business, and in the process of pricing a contract. How much should I charge to clean a 4,000 sq.ft. bar/night, 5 nights per week? How many hours will the job take each night?

Answer

It all depends on how rowdy a crew is in there on any given night and what your job actually is. If you are just sweeping up with a 24" push broom, you can do it in about an hour. Mopping will run about an hour and a half. Rest rooms may be messy and time consuming, again depending on the patrons and their bar-hopping habits.
Are you doing door glass and brass handrails? It all adds time, so be sure to find out all the details before suggesting a price.
Bars and other night spots are tough. Bad hours and often less than tidy customers. Be prepared.
And don't do it for free watered-down drinks.
