Question

I was just wondering if there were any special procedures to follow when cleaning a book store? It would be my first time cleaning this type of facility.

Answer

Cleaning should be straightforward. Your cleaning production time should be higher than offices because: a) racks take up a large area, b) there are fewer trash cans and desks, and c) usually dusting is minimal. Times could range from 4,000 to 6,000 sq. ft. per hour depending upon floor type, size of equipment, conditions, and frequency.
Retail stores require sufficient entrance matting. Employees normally dust the display racks and may even clean the counters. Often you can start cleaning in the back (offices, break room, etc.) before they close. Regular spot cleaning of carpets, burnishing of floors, and detailed entrance cleaning is important to keep appearances up. As with all contracts, keep the quality high and maintain constant customer feedback.
