| A car dealer needs his service bays cleaned. There is heavy oil and grease. No floor drains. Any suggestions on equipment, chemicals, or procedures? |

There might be a couple of different approaches; here is the one I prefer. First, pick up trash by hand, and sweep or dustmop to clear away debris. Prepare a heavy duty degreaser mixed on the strong side to fill two mop buckets and to add to a 26”- 32” battery autoscrubber. Use an old wet mop dipped in the first bucket to blot up major oil spills. Then, make scrubbing only passes up and down the length of the bay with the autoscrubber - solution applied and using a green pad. Make a second pass with the squeegee down for pick up and add slight solution to any dry areas. Follow with hand mopping around the hoists and in the turn areas if the autoscrubber has left streaks. It may require four changes of the mop bucket – using hot water. Make sure the person running the autoscrubber is skilled, as there may be a lot of expensive equipment and vehicles nearby that can be dented or scratched. Gary Clipperton National Pro Clean Corp.
