Question

I'm having problems with hard water streaks forming in toilets and urinals. We have tried using CLR and Lime Away with limited luck. Any suggestions?

Answer

Certainly. Try an acid bowl cleaner that has a higher concentration of acid than the products you mention you have tried. Use with a wet pumice stone on heavy build-ups.
Avoid splashes onto skin and into eyes and keep the acid away from chrome fittings. Use good ventilation for the off-gassing.
Once you get ahead of the problem, the less corrosive products may keep you there.
