Question

In a 2 year old, 180,000 square foot hospital with 100 private rooms, I’m trying to determine required # of FTEs for 2 shifts 7 days a week.

Answer

I can’t offer any more than a guide on this.
How fast do your people clean a private room now? 10 minutes? Multiply by 100 and divide by 60. 16 Hrs.? Divide by the 8 hr. shift duration. 2 FTE per shift?
Then, move to floors.
Or, you can do the production time bit. 2300 sq. ft. per hour. 78 manhours/ 8= 9.8 FTE per shift. Better call that 10.
Of course, I don’t know if these numbers work for you or not. You will have to do some benchmarking for your facility. Time out the room cleaning, the hallway work, the offices and breakroom and public restrooms, and the rest, to get some figures you can rely on.
