Question

Our school district has begun using a microfiber dry/wet mop system. Workers have expressed concern about the dry mop sticking to the vinyl tile floor and that it does not sweep as well as those made out of cotton. What has been the experience of those who use the microfiber system?

Answer

Microfiber cloths and mops do have a different feel and drag to them and may take some getting used to. However, the drag should not be excessive or tiring. There are differences in these types of cloths and not all microfibers are suitable for all uses. If the problem continues, you may want to try different brands or styles. I'd suggest trying a low profile open weave looped construction face yarn to reduce the drag. Several major companies offer such products, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding different sources for testing.
